Mentoring is to support and encourage people to manage their own learning in order that they may maximise their potential, develop their skills, improve their performance and become the person they want to be.

Health and fitness mentoring is essential, if you’re currently not taking it as seriously as you need to. The strain of many jobs, particularly those that are senior and management focussed require high levels of energy, attention and of course finely tuned focus. Without a healthy body to support that something’s gotta give and regrettably it will be your ability to do your job as well as others expect you to do it.

By taking on a mentor you’ll find someone who has managed to do their high powered job well, but not at the expense of their health. Good health flows on into other areas of your life as well, not just within the workplace. being fit and healthy means you’ll have more energy for social activities, like getting actively involved in your kids athletic pursuits or just being able to wind down with a long walk along a bush trail with your wife.

A mentor will show you how you can form an exercise habit, in much the same way that you formed all of those really important work habits. Find 30 mins a day for your personal health isn’t really that hard. It just takes commitment and of course as a high performing executive you’re used to making and keeping commitments, so it’s then really a matter of time management and an unnerving approach to spruiking the benefits of maintaining a balance of fitness and job satisfaction.

Don’t be one of those who gets to the end of their working life being 20Kg overweight (which basically means you fall into the obese category) and once that happens you’re a step away from being a statistic but not of the kind you can be proud of. Get active and the first step is to find someone that can help steer you down a pathway of work/home balance.

Join Ageless Force Fitness, a community of people who are committed to finding a healthier lifestyle. Being a community member opens up an on-line portal, full of thousands of exercises and workout plans, plus the ability to do these wherever you are. You don’t need a gym membership to be committed to a healthy lifestyle but if you need some guidance and assistance, then our community may be the right choice for you.

To work with a fitness coach, as opposed to a business coach may be the very thing that you need to ensure you have the level of energy you need to either maintain your current position or to move up that all important corporate ladder.

Being good at business requires training, acumen, problem solving and optimal performance, under stress. You got to where you are by looking outside the square and by being more innovative than others around you.

The corporate world is great at extracting the lifeblood from you but not that good at preparing you for the journey, at least not with your “after work life” in mind. Unfortunately employers have no responsibility for you once you leave their employ and if you’re all washed up and suffering from the many preventable health related diseases, well it’s just bad luck. It’s now up to you and your doctor to sort it out.

Why wait for this to happen. You can achieve a balanced approach to work and health commitments. A health and fitness coach can show you how and provide assistance for the long haul.

At Ageless Force we’ve worked with people from all sorts of employment backgrounds and most found that they had a vague understanding of how to find that work/life balance but had not yet taken affirmative action to make it a daily part of their lives. We understand that you’re probably time poor and as a result need a flexible approach to incorporating exercise and healthy eating into your week.

Finding time for exercise doesn’t have to mean an expensive and time consuming gym program. It doesn’t even mean you need to attend a group or personal training session. Technology is now available to allow you to work from home or your workplace utilising a tailored program put together by one of our experienced fitness coaches. You can exercise for whatever time you have available. Ideally you can find 30 mins a day. We provide a fully animated set of exercise routines and you can simply add them to your calendar or work with a coach to map out a plan that suits your availability and other work/home commitments.

Your health and fitness is just too important to ignore or leave low on the importance scale so do yourself a favour and give us a call.

Whilst it is all too easy to ignore the mental and physical aspect of our lives, as we aggressively pursue the material wealth that comes with hard work and career demands, these aspects of our lives scream for attention, that if not satisfied, will start to fail, or at least refuse to operate as optimally as designed for.

Your health and fitness for life is your most important asset and to relegate it to 2nd, 3rd or even further down the priority list, will in time come back to haunt you.

In today’s world you have to work hard, the job demands more and more of us and the stress that comes with that can at times be overpowering. Exercise and healthy eating can help prepare you for these demands. Exercise is well known to be a stress relief mechanism. Not only does it get you away from the work place for an hour or so, but it also has huge impacts on your physical wellbeing.

Even exercising moderately for 30 mins a day will lessen your likelihood of succumbing to the modern age diseases of hypertension (high blood pressure), which can lead to further heart disease complications, diabetes type II, and overweight or worse obesity. Being overweight or obese has now been proven beyond doubt to lead to major heart disease, which may in turn mean a premature end to your time on this planet. Even if it doesn’t your life could be irrevocably changed. Your mobility will be severely restricted and your ability to lead a normal, active existence will be significantly challenged.

So back to our topic of paying attention to your health and fitness. The workplace is an ideal place to make employees lives more productive, no employer likes to give up productive days due to absence through preventable sickness. I urge you to challenge your workplace. If they haven’t already introduced education and health & fitness options then start a movement to make it happen.

A 2011 study by Medibank Private found that 53% of workplace lost productivity (due to illness) was caused by the exact factors we’ve found to be lacking in may peoples lifestyle choices, namely hypertension, diabetes, respiratory disorders, heart disease and depression. All of these conditions can be improved on with a dedicated approach to maintaining a fitter and healthier lifestyle.

In addition to causing employees to take time off the study also found that employees suffering from these conditions may be able to be at work but that their contribution was severely degraded.

Other benefits of finding time for your health & fitness include a more positive outlook, more inclination to get out and enjoy what life has to offer, more social interactions and a reduced reliance on health professionals.

If you’d like some assistance in mounting a case for a health & fitness focus at your workplace, let us jump in and give you a hand. The Ageless Force community is ready to help.
